Homeless & Housing

Sapibon Foundation, Inc. will operate a homeless shelter, with the number of residents depending on facility size. As a Charitable Organization in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we will use website, fundraisers, networking, social media, and contacting other shelters and organizations to make people aware of the program. Individuals entering the facility cannot be on any substances including drugs and alcohol. Individuals who want to enter the program will need to submit an application, go through a background check, and take a drug screening. The intake process will involve gathering background information including what brought them to this point. To come into the program, individuals cannot have direct substance abuse or child related charges as this would be a shelter for men, women, and children. Once individuals have completed the application process, the organization will set them up with a bed in the facility.

Once our Local Non-Profit Organization has set individuals up with a bed, it will work to identify what services and classes are needed to get residents self-sufficient. Individuals may stay in the program for up to 18 months. While in the program, individuals will have access to different resources such as budgeting classes, parenting classes, resume development, interview preparation skills, etc. Each resident will be assigned a case manager to help guide individuals to the services they need. On a daily basis, individuals will be required to conduct job searches and submit their resumes (once developed). In addition, individuals will have to complete daily chores to assist with the operation of the facility.
